Today's Scriptures and Notes:
Romans 5:8 (NKJV) “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE HAS COME DOWN
…DOESN'T MEAN GOD IS FINISHED WITH YOU!
1. BUT GOD
…HIS LOVE REMAINS WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE CHANGES
BUT THE LOVE OF GOD NEVER CHANGES!
The same God who met us in that old building
… is the God who will meet us in the new one!
2. BUT GOD
… HE LOVED US BEFORE WE EVER DESERVED IT
WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS!
JESUS ALREADY LOVED US!
He comes into the broken places!
He comes into the mess!
He comes into the ruins of what sin has destroyed!
"I still love you!"
3. BUT GOD
…WHAT COMES DOWN DOESN'T DETERMINE WHAT GOD CAN BUILD UP
Genesis 50:20 (NKJV) “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good…”
Sometimes God brings us into a new season
…by allowing an old season to close.
Sometimes what used to hold us
…can no longer contain what God is preparing for us.
YOU CAN HONOR WHAT GOD DID YESTERDAY
…WITHOUT BEING AFRAID OF WHAT HE WANTS TO DO TOMORROW!
But I'm not going to spend tomorrow
… living in yesterday!
THE BUILDING WAS PART OF OUR HISTORY,
…BUT GOD IS STILL WRITING OUR FUTURE!
WE MAY HAVE LOST AN OLD BUILDING,
…BUT WE HAVE NOT LOST OUR GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE!
4. BUT GOD
…THE FOUNDATION OF OUR FAITH CANNOT BE DESTROYED
1 Corinthians 3:11 (NKJV) “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is one more time.
BUT JESUS CHRIST IS ETERNAL!
Matthew 16:18 NKJV “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
THE MESSAGE OUTLIVED THE BUILDING
THAT GOD LOVED US SO MUCH THAT HE SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR US!
"Don't forget why you were here!"
"Don't forget what this ministry has always been about!"
"Don't forget the souls!"
"Don't forget the Cross!"
"Don't forget the love of Jesus!"
BECAUSE THE MISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREATER THAN THE BUILDING!
LOVE THAT REACHES INTO THE RUBBLE
THE CROSS IS GREATER THAN YOUR PAST!
