“What you see determines how you respond.”
 

2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.



The difference isn’t always the circumstance

 

Sometimes it’s the perspective



Sometimes, before God changes our situation
…He changes the way we see our situation



1. YOUR PERSPECTIVE CAN CHANGE YOUR RESPONSE



The ten spies looked at the giants and compared them to themselves
Caleb looked at the giants and compared them to God’s promise



If you compare your problem to yourself, 
…your problem will always look bigger

 

But when you compare your problem to God
…Your perspective changes.



2. WHAT YOU SEE ISN’T ALWAYS WHAT GOD SEES
 

That’s why we can’t allow our perspective 
…to be determined only 
…by what our eyes can see
 

What you see isn’t the whole story



3. SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO CHANGE WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT



What changed was Peter’s focus



He stopped looking at Jesus 
…and started looking at the storm



When his perspective changed,
… his behavior changed



You’ve  just been looking at it too long

 

Sometimes you need to stop staring at the wind and waves 
…and start looking back at Jesus



4. FAITH SEES WHAT GOD HAS PROMISED
 

Faith doesn’t deny reality
Faith denies the situation authority 
…to tamper with Your Destiny 

 

Faith simply refuses to believe 
…that what you see 
…is all there is
 

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.



“I don’t see it yet, 
…but I believe God.”
 

“I don’t understand it yet, 
…but I trust God.”
 

“I don’t know how He’s going to do it, 
…but I know He will.”



5. GOD CAN CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE 
…IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BATTLE



“Lord, I pray, open his eyes 
…that he may see.”



Sometimes you don’t need God to change your circumstances
 

You need God to change your perspective



6. DON’T LET A TEMPORARY SITUATION 
…GIVE YOU A PERMANENT PERSPECTIVE



So don’t make permanent decisions 
…based on a temporary situation



Don’t quit because of what you’re seeing today



You don’t know what God is doing tomorrow



Maybe you’ve been looking at the wrong thing
 

You’ve been looking at the problem
 

Look at Me



When your perspective changes
…your faith rises



Your situation may look impossible from where you’re standing
 

When you see it from God’s perspective
…you’ll realize that God has been working all along



The enemy wants you to focus on what you see
 

Faith causes you to focus on what God has said
 

When what you see contradicts 
…what God has said

 

Believe God!



Your perspective can determine your attitude
 

God’s promise determines your future
