CONSISTENCY
"The Missing Ingredient Between Potential and Destiny"
“Consistency is the root problem for not reaching our full
potential or even our destiny in the Lord”
Galatians 6:9 NKJV And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
POTENTIAL IS NOT DESTINY
Potential alone will never fulfill purpose
Sometimes he only has to distract you long enough to make you inconsistent
1. CONSISTENCY IS WHAT TURNS POTENTIAL INTO PROGRESS
2. MOST PEOPLE DON’T FAIL BECAUSE THEY CAN’T
…THEY FAIL BECAUSE THEY DON’T CONTINUE
Because weariness attacks consistency
1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Scripture doesn't celebrate the flash.
…It celebrates the faithful.
3. CONSISTENCY DOESN’T MEAN YOU NEVER FALL
Proverbs 24:16 NKJV For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
Your destiny is not determined by your worst moment
4. CONSISTENCY IS BUILT IN THE ORDINARY
Those ordinary moments
…were preparing him for an extraordinary assignment
Your private consistency
…prepares you for your public opportunity
5. CONSISTENCY REQUIRES SAYING NO
Luke 9:62 NKJV But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Some people are trying to move forward
…while continually looking backward
You can’t build tomorrow
…while constantly returning to yesterday
Your destiny requires your focus
6. CONSISTENCY IS HOW FAITH
…BECOMES A LIFESTYLE
“Even when I don’t understand Him,
… I still trust Him.”
Job 13:15 NKJV Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.
Most of us are consistent
…when life is consistent.
Are you the same person in the valley
…that you were on the mountain?
7. YOUR DESTINY MAY BE ONE MORE STEP
…BEYOND YOUR WEARINESS
Don’t let today’s weariness
…make tomorrow’s breakthrough impossible
God isn’t asking you to take every step today.
He’s asking you to take the next one
“You have the potential
…Now develop consistency.”
Potential gets you started
…Consistency keeps you moving
2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
