Today's Scriptures and Notes:
Joshua 24:15 (NKJV) And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
“This isn’t just what I believe …this is what I am declaring over my house.”
1. IT IS A DECLARATION
2. IT IS A PROCLAMATION
There is power in declaring publicly …what you have settled privately.
Joshua was saying: “This is who we are.”
…We are going to serve God.
…We’re going to honor God.
…We’re going to worship God.
…We’re going to believe God.
…We’re going to raise our children to know God.
…We’re going to make God’s house a priority.
…We’re going to make prayer a priority.
…We’re going to make the Word of God a priority.
That’s a family identity.
3. BUT I BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING PROPHETIC IN IT
“We WILL serve the Lord.”
You may see a child who is far away
God sees a son coming home
4. DON’T PROPHESY THE PROBLEM … PROCLAIM THE PROMISE
Sometimes we spend more time talking about …what the devil is doing
…than talking about what God is going to do.
Proverbs 18:21 NKJV Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Our words reveal what we believe, … and faith speaks differently than fear.
5. JOSHUA WAS BUILDING A LEGACY
Your life is preaching a sermon to your family every day
What sermon are they hearing?
6. YOUR HOUSE NEEDS A SPIRITUAL HEAD
“What happened in previous generations …is not going to define this generation.”
7. YOU MAY BE THE FIRST ONE TO SAY IT …BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE THE LAST
You don’t know what your obedience today …will produce tomorrow.
8. THIS IS WHY I CALL IT A PROPHECY OF FAITH
“I don’t see it yet …but I believe God is working.”
“I don’t know how …but God knows how.”
“It hasn’t happened yet …but I’m still believing.”
Don’t bury your prophecy …because you haven’t seen the fulfillment yet.
God is not finished with your house!
9. THERE IS A SPIRITUAL BATTLE OVER YOUR HOUSE
If he can destroy the home …he can influence the next generation.
The devil does not get the final word over my family.
Jesus gets the final word!
But he doesn’t own my house.
