Today's Scriptures and Notes:
James 4:8 NKJV
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Revival Isn’t Getting More of God

Revival Is Removing What Stands Between Us and God

The problem is that our hearts become cluttered.

Revival isn’t about convincing God to come down.

The issue isn't God's supply;
...the issue is our capacity.

It’s about removing everything that keeps us from experiencing the God who is already here.

I. God Doesn’t Need to Move
…We Do

The Reality:
..."You are exactly as close to God as you choose to be."
-A.W. Tozer

Revival begins when we stop running from Him.

…Or Too FAR AWAY to receive the signal

II. Sin Doesn’t Remove God
…It Removes Our Awareness of Him

Isaiah 59:1-2 ESV
 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear;
but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

God doesn’t need hearing aids
…we need the altar

Maybe something has accumulated between you and Him.

Sometimes the greatest barrier isn’t wickedness
…It’s simply too much of everything else.

Revival requires eviction before occupation.

Sometimes revival isn't about God moving in
...It's about everything else moving out.

III. Revival Always Begins with Repentance

Acts 3:19 NKJV
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Refreshing follows repentance.

Repentance is not punishment.
…Repentance is removing the blockage.

Revival is removing the kink.
 God never stopped flowing.

IV. God Cannot Fill What Is Already Full

Not because fasting changes God…
Fasting empties us

V. Lay Aside Every Weight

Hebrews 12:1 ESV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Not every weight is sin.

Some things are simply too heavy to carry into revival.

You can’t run
carrying everything.

VI. Revival
…Is Returning to First Love

VII. Fire Falls on Prepared Altars

VIII. The Greatest Revival Starts in One Heart

History often celebrates large crowds.
…But heaven celebrates surrendered hearts.

Real revival begins with personal repentance
…before public celebration.

Remove everything that competes for Your place.

When surrender meets the Presence of God
…the fire falls
