Today's Scriptures and Notes:

Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; Because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all that mourn;

3  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, To give unto them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they might be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

The enemy wants you to believe your ashes are the end of your story.

1. Ashes Represent What Has Burned Down

Job 2:8 KJV

And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.

Leviticus 6:10–13 NKJV

10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen trousers he shall put on his body, and take up the ashes of the burnt offering which the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

11 Then he shall take off his garments, put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place.

12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.

13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.

The devil loves ashes; because ashes remind you of what used to be.

2. God Does Not Leave His People in the Ashes

3. Pentecostal Fire Changes Everything

Acts 2:3-4 KJV

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

A Christian without fire becomes vulnerable to compromise.

4. Some People Have Learned to Live in the Ashes

One of the greatest dangers is becoming comfortable in spiritual ruin.

But God did not call us to remember the fire

…He called us to carry the fire.

II Timothy 1:6 KJV

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

5. Fire Requires Sacrifice

I Kings 18:38 KJV

Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

6. The Enemy Wants Ashes

…God Wants Altars

Ashes are what remains after destruction.

7. Revival Fire Is Still Available

We must refuse to sit in the ashes

…when Holy Ghost fire is still available.
